Laura Jo Biography
Laura Jo is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from North Longford whose music weaves together Irish traditional roots with elements of folk, jazz, and Americana. Having toured in over 40 countries and across 40 U.S. states with celebrated acts like Biird, The Young Irelanders, and Billow Wood, she launched her solo career in 2018 and quickly established herself as one of Ireland’s most promising emerging artists.
Her debut single “Places” (2022) and follow-up “Bright Eyes” (2023) earned critical acclaim, with “Bright Eyes” winning the Wildcard Public Vote in the Hot Press & IBI A New Local Hero competition 2023.
Laura Jo has since announced exciting new collaborations with Irish country star Johnny Brady, traditional music legend Sharon Shannon, and Eurovision-winning songwriter Charlie McGettigan. She is also set to join Matt McGinn as a special guest this summer, as well as performing alongside Perfect Friction and the NxNW band for a series of summer concerts.
A skilled performer on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and piano, Laura Jo’s live shows have taken her to stages including RTÉ’s Late Late Show, London’s Trafalgar Square, Dubai World EXPO and the All Together Now Festival with various projects. She will appear on TG4’s traditional music series Geantraí in January 2026 with more exciting announcements for 2026.
With her warm vocals, lyrical honesty, and rich musicality, Laura Jo continues to build a distinctive voice in the modern Irish music scene.
