About this concert
Dancehall, Dub, Dirt, Drone: On Saturday, November 15, The Bug returns to Gretchen for another edition of Pressure. Ninja Tune veteran Kevin Richard Martin, also known as The Bug, teams up with key figures from the global bass avant-garde and brings his massive sound system to Berlin. We'll spend the entire day setting it up to make the full spectrum of bass music — from Grime, Dub, and Hip-Hop to Dubstep and experimental Electronica — not just audible, but physically immersive.
The Bug’s DJ set moves between Dub, Ragga, Dancehall, and Grime and this time he’s joined by none other than Warrior Queen. Their track “Poison Dart” on Ninja Tune is now considered a modern classic. With her politically charged, raw, and direct style, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and DJ from Jamaica has collaborated not only with The Bug, but also with acts like Skream, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Mungo’s Hi Fi, and O.B.F. After a long break from performing, Warrior Queen is back with new releases. That makes her appearance at Pressure all the more special.
The French dub collective O.B.F blends heavyweight Reggae-Dub with a contemporary sound system approach: analog, intense, and deeply rooted in tradition. Their sound draws from Jamaican reggae, 1990s dub, and modern urban bass music, always searching for a forward-thinking dub aesthetic. They have long been a staple in the international bass scene.
Often called Japan’s ambassador of bass, Goth-Trad delivers hypnotic, minimalist sets that combine feedback, distortion, and trance-like structures. His performances feel like deep, psychedelic journeys through sound.
Gorgonn, with nearly two decades of experience in sound engineering, builds a powerful neo-dub sound he describes as Sci-Fi Steppas. It’s a fierce blend of deep industrial dub, noise, techno, and no wave.
For this event we offer discounted tickets to give people with less money still access to culture. These quotas are limited and only available at TixforGigs. We trust in your self-assessment: If you can, please book standard tickets and leave the reduced tickets to those who have to save money at the moment.
