About this concert
The Welsh Album of The Year 2021 awardee will perform with her 7-piece band, 'Mared & Friends' plus special guests. Expect soaring vocals with sounds influenced by the Laurel Canyon era.
Earlier this year they released a live visual 5 track EP, funded by BBC Horizons Launchpad. In September, Mared releases a brand-new single from her upcoming 2026 EP and is stopping by Llais as a Cardiff resident as part of a mini tour of Wales and England to celebrate!
Having made a name for herself on the Welsh Music Scene, on BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, playing festivals such as Focus Wales, Tafwyl, Sŵn, this year Mared's music takes her to Canada, Switzerland, London and beyond, and she is excited to be joining the line up at Llais and to be bringing her band to play close to home!

Mared Biography
Mared brings a Welsh flavour to deep indie-folk (Andy Shauf meets Lizzy
MacAlpine). The singer-songwriter, originally from rural North Wales, now
based in Cardiff, has the capability to arrange her music for an explosive
and intimate 7-piece band. Welsh album of the year 2021. Mared's music
has been described as 'a wonderfully intimate homage to the 'Laurel
Canyon'' (York Calling) and as a 'power house vocalist' by Sian Eleri
(Selector Radio/BBC Radio 1). Mared released a full
band live EP in May, funded by BBC Horizons Launchpad, alongside
brand new music in autumn. The EP later this year is a collaboration with
London-based producer, Ed Allen (Alice Kim, Kindelan, Rosie Miles, Awen
Ensemble). Mared has previously played Sŵn Festival, Focus Wales,
Celtic Connections Showcase and sold out the likes of Greennote Music
(London), and Clwb Ifor Bach (Cardiff). She is embarking on an autumn
tour of her upcoming EP including dates at Servant Jazz Quarters in London, Gwyl y Llais Cardiff and BreakOut West Canada.
