Sophie Stewart

Sophie Stewart sits between introspection and social commentary, confidence and vulnerability. Drawing upon influences such as Courtney Barnett, Laura Marling and Julia Jacklin, Stewart blends observational songwriting with gritty, melodic guitar lines. In 2019, she produced a series of singles armed with just a student loan and a scrappy laptop. These releases earned two BBC Intro 'Track of the Month' placements, as well as a spot on Spotify's editorial playlist 'Hot New Bands'. Since then, she’s spent time growing both personally and musically, culminating in her upcoming EP ‘Don't you want a piece of me?’. This brings a welcomed end to a brief hiatus, exploring the themes of identity, longing and belonging in one's twenties.
