Seera Biography

Seera is a four-piece all-women Arab psychedelic rock band from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (the word Seera ةﺮﻴﺳ means story in Arabic). Their music blends mesmerising Middle Eastern melodies with the raw energy of modern rock, delivering a transformative journey steeped in empowerment, identity and the absurd.

Seera's acclaimed debut album Al Mojallad Al Awal (Volume 1) was released in 2024, cementing their status as one of Saudi Arabia’s most exciting independent voices.
Their rise has already drawn international attention, with coverage from Dazed MENA, Reuters, Vogue Arabia, and The Independent, and their AP News feature reaching over 1 million views worldwide.

The new single Shams (شمس) taken from their forthcoming EP Sarab captures the band at their most expansive, an ethereal, genre-defying track that merges poetic Arabic lyricism with psychedelic rock atmospheres. Sung in Arabic, it is a meditation on resilience, belonging, and cosmic transformation. Opening with the line “The sun will rise, light of life, with calm and belonging,” the song evokes a sense of quiet revolution, reflecting the emotional weight of womanhood, identity, and the journey of becoming.
