Fimone Biography
About Fimone
Fimone is a queer singer-songwriter and genre-blending artist who fuses alt-country, blues-rock, Americana, and soul into cinematic, emotionally raw storytelling. Raised in rural Minnesota and based in Nashville, Tennessee, she writes music for those navigating heartbreak, addiction, feminine power, and queer identity.
Early Life & Musical Roots
Born and raised in small-town Minnesota, Fimone’s passion for music ignited at age 16 with her first Fender guitar. Overcoming personal challenges including addiction and small-town limitations, she forged a distinct sound rooted in honesty and grit, drawing early comparisons to icons like Brandi Carlile, Lucinda Williams, and Alabama Shakes.
Career & Achievements
With over a decade as an independent artist, Fimone has toured extensively across the United States and Europe, developing a loyal fanbase and collaborating with Grammy Award-winning producers. Her self-directed video for the single “Fire” won the Audience Award at Indie Memphis Film Festival.
In 2024, Fimone released her sophomore EP, Fascination, a deeply personal and genre-defying project recorded inside a historic New Orleans brothel once owned by madam Norma Wallace. The EP uniquely incorporates Norma’s original audio recordings from the 1970s, exploring themes of legacy, loss, and liberation through a modern queer perspective. Singles like “Will” and “The Guide” received support from major country music institutions including CMT, ACM, and CMA, with music videos featured on CMT Music, All Country Music, and Nashville’s WKRN.
Live Performances & Media
Fimone’s powerful live performances led to her arena debut at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. She has been featured on influential platforms including Lightning 100, WWOZ, PBS On Stage Twin Cities, WWLTV, and in publications like The Tennessean, Rainbow Rodeo, AntiMusic, and Connect LGBTQ Magazine.
Artistic Vision
More than a singer-songwriter, Fimone is also a skilled producer and director, creating evocative visuals and a forthcoming documentary tied to her Fascination project. Her work sheds light on stories often unseen—from queer love and addiction to feminine strength and survival.
