Geoff Abraham Band Biography

Geoff Abraham's musical journey began in the vibrant Boston music scene of the early 1990s. His first band, The Fighting Cocks, quickly became a headlining act at iconic venues such as The Rat, Bunratty's, and Bill's Bar. Known for their unpredictable and electrifying live shows, the band even caught the attention of rock royalty, with Slash of Guns N' Roses famously jumping on stage during one of their sets. Managed by Charlie McKenzie, who also guided the legendary band Boston, The Fighting Cocks left an indelible mark on the city's music history.

By 1994, Geoff formed Black Number Nine, which signed with Red Sky Records and was managed by Miller Entertainment out of New York City. The band hit the road hard, playing countless shows in Boston, New York, and across the Northeast, sharing the stage with national acts. Their debut album featured collaborations with Boston legends Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band) and Ben Orr (The Cars), while their follow-up album was produced by Stu Kimball (Peter Wolf, Bob Dylan). Black Number Nine earned accolades, including Best Rock Band in Boston by Boston Magazine, and became the house band at Aerosmith's bar on Lansdowne Street when it opened.

In the late '90s, Geoff ventured into solo work, releasing his debut solo album featuring an all-star lineup with Stu Kimball on guitar, Brad Hallen on bass, and Tom Leger on drums.

A pivotal trip to St. Petersburg, FL, in 2000 inspired a new chapter. Geoff stayed in Florida, opening a recording studio dedicated to composing and producing production music. His company, Gaptrax Music Library, became a powerhouse, with Geoff's music featured on NCIS, American Idol, Fox Sports, and commercials for brands like Heineken. At the same time, he continued performing with his Florida-based band, The Stone City, recording six albums and becoming a cornerstone of the local original music scene.

Today, Geoff splits his time between Boston and St Petersburg. His latest project, Geoff Abraham Band delivers high-energy bluesy rock 'n' roll with infectious hooks, unforgettable melodies, and plenty of swagger. With a legacy spanning decades and a passion for creating both on stage and in the studio, Geoff Abraham continues to define what it means to rock with heart and soul.
