Jörg Halubek Biography
Jörg Halubek is a conductor, maestro al cembalo and organist, known for his vivid approach to historically informed performance. He is founder and artistic director of the baroque orchestra il Gusto Barocco and Professor of Organ and Historical Keyboards at the Stuttgart University of Music.
With il Gusto Barocco he explores forgotten operas and new perspectives on baroque repertoire, most recently with projects such as Bajazet and Dafne. His recordings include Bach’s Art of Fugue (Berlin Classics) and the world premiere of Antonia Bembo’s opera L’Ercole amante (cpo).
As an organist, Halubek is completing the ambitious project Bach Organ Landscapes, performing and recording Bach’s complete organ works on historic instruments of the Bach regions. The ten double albums are being released on Berlin Classics and will conclude in 2026 with a final volume of the Goldberg Variations.
