​Gruis – gritty, cheerful and full throttle

Gruis is a young rock band from the Netherlands that mixes original songs with smoking-hot covers and a ton of energy (you can skip the “sir,” if you want). What started in 2023 as a bunch of musicians meeting at the Deltion College in Zwolle has grown into a serious live machine with a taste for roaring guitars, dirty riffs and everything that smells like the ‘80s/’90s.

Their style is a blend of rock, punk and metal, influenced by bands like Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden and other heroes with big hair and leather pants. But above all, Gruis is just Gruis: raw, honest, and always with a wink.

The band

Jamie Ritchie – A vocalist with steel-cable vocal cords and the stage presence of someone born to own the crowd. Buckle up: she’ll sing straight into your soul.

Jessie Red – Virtuoso guitarist, backing vocalist and self-proclaimed rock entertainer. Plays faster than his shadow and laughs louder than his amp.

Kelvin Seine – The bassist who holds down the low end and the vibe. Sometimes quiet, sometimes razor-sharp, always spot-on. Without him, the whole thing falls apart.

Tim Wienen – He’s been drumming since he could walk (possibly earlier) and adds tight playing plus a healthy dose of dry humor. Oh, and he teaches drums too. Multi-talented.
