Event websiteAbout this concert
On September 22, 2018 Shawn Ames and the Dead City Orchestra performed a live concert at The Jayhawk Theatre in downtown Topeka, Kansas. The nine piece group was formed just to perform songs from Shawn's album catalog and to play them acoustically. It was filmed live by Dale Renner with two cameras and live audio was recorded but mysteriously disappeared when asked for. For the last seven years it has sat in a dark vault, not seen by other than Dale and Shawn. Not even the members of the band has seen it!
Now it's being shown for everyone to see, whether you were there or not! Come see a band that had seven weeks, two times a week, to learn around 18 songs and find a way to make them work acoustically!
An open acoustic jam will take place after the movie, somewhere around 2pm and go on until 4pm. Bring your music maker of choice and celebrate the lives of Richard Cain, John Henderson, and Dale Renner.
