About this concert
SHARI is sharing a bill with The UNFAITHFUL SERVANTS for a tour in BC. They are a must-see Folk/Americana act from Vancouver Island. The band is multi-faceted, expertly blending elements of bluegrass, traditional folk, and old-time music for an infectious acoustic sound all their own. Mandolinist Jesse Cobb, a Grammy-nominated founding member of The Infamous String Dusters, has played with legends like Béla Fleck and Lee Ann Womack. Singer-songwriter Dylan Stone, a modern troubadour, has shared the stage with Keith Urban and performed for Lou Reed. Joined by fiddle virtuoso Quin Etheridge-Pedden and bassist Mark Johnson. Their 2019 debut album, produced by Grammy-winner Steve Smith, blends bluegrass, folk, and rock earned them a CFMA nomination. SHARI, is a multiple Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter and a cherished voice in Canadian folk music for decades. Known for her beloved work as a solo artist and with groups such as The Hometown Band, Pied Pumkin, and collaborative projects with Barney Bentall, Bill Henderson, and Roy Forbes, Shari Ulrich brings her signature warmth, wit, and deep musicality to the stage. Renowned for her soaring vocals and skill on violin and piano, Ulrich’s songs are both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Shari Ulrich Biography

Originally a California girl, long settled on the west coast of Canada, Shari celebrates close to 5 decades as a touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, & harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist and multi-instrumentalist has lead to 25 albums – including her collaboration with solo artists Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes (UHF), Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and more recently The High Bar Gang, a 7 piece bluegrass band with Barney Bentall. Her work has garnered 2 Juno awards, several Juno nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year.

Through it all Shari raised daughter Julia Graff, now 31 with a Masters in Sound Recording from McGill University - an accomplished multi-instrumentlist, music editor in film and television, producer, graphic designer, videographer and photographer.

Shari tours solo, as well as with a trio with Julia and fellow High Bar Gang member Kirby Barber, and occasionally with the addition of Cindy Fairbank on piano.
