Shanelle Gabriel

Shanelle Gabriel is an internationally touring poet, singer, motivational speaker, and lupus warrior from Brooklyn, NY. She has shared her fusion of poetry and soulful singing on stages with individuals such as Jill Scott, Nas, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kerry Washington, and more. She has shared her talent on countless global stages (from Carnegie Hall to the Vatican), and has crafted poetry & artistic messaging for companies including Pandora, NFL Draft, BET, and Hershey among others. As a keynote speaker, she dynamically shares stories of resilience, improving interpersonal communications, and self-care while using her spoken word poetry to underscore her message.

With 20 years as an educator and Masters in Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, she works to transform the lives of the next generation through trainings & programmatic consulting. She does all of this while serving as an advocate for lupus, a disease she has battled since 2004. Since her diagnosis, she has spoken alongside the Director of the NIH, delivered keynotes at Congressional Hearings, featured in USA Today and Women's Health magazine, serves as a member of the Lupus Accelerating Breakthroughs Consortium, and has spoken at hospitals and biopharma companies on improving equity and patient access to quality healthcare.
