Bardo Martinez, the former frontman of Los Angeles-based psychedelic soul band Chicano Batman, is set to release his debut solo album, Transformation Time, with Stones Throw Records. The album will showcase his distinctive voice and vision, offering a fresh perspective on his artistic expression.

Following Chicano Batman's indefinite hiatus in 2024, Bardo embraced his creative independence, collaborating with Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf. His first solo track, "Love Song for No One," released in February 2024, introduced his unique sound—a blend of '80s electro boogie, Afrobeat, dub, and cosmic soul. "I’m putting everything into it," Bardo says of Transformation Time, reflecting his commitment to genuine self-expression.
With Transformation Time, Bardo invites listeners into his world, blending personal experiences with a rich tapestry of musical influences to create a sound that is distinctly his own.
