The Wanted Gems Biography

The Wanted Gems are an identical twin sister duo whose angelic harmonies and genre-spanning sound flow from indie-folk to dream-pop. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Madison and Micaela Hull moved to Mparntwe/Alice Springs at 13 and have called it home for the past 11 years. Known for their heartfelt songwriting, shimmering melodies, and signature ukulele accompaniment, they’ve built a loyal following through raw emotion, vivid storytelling, and captivating live performances.

2024 was a breakout year for the duo. Fresh off winning the NT Music Awards People’s Choice Song of the Year for Trusted You, they landed a Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist spot, gained national radio support, and performed at major festivals including Wide Open Spaces and Top Half Folk Festival. They’ve supported acts like The Dreggs, Josh Pyke, Kingswood, and most recently Guy Sebastian, with their song Trusted You also featured on ABC News Breakfast.

In 2025, The Wanted Gems continued their rise, taking home Folk Song of the Year (Lovely Distraction), Pop Song of the Year (Detaching), and Youth Song of the Year (Lovely Distraction) at the NT Music Awards. They also played their first international show in Denver, Colorado with Sofar Sounds, sparking plans to return for a full tour.

Their music has also extended into film, with original compositions featured in Under Streetlights—a feature where Madison stars in the lead role.
