Ida Stein Biography
Ida Stein is a Norwegian, independent, electro pop artist. She started singing as she started walking, being taught that using your creative mind is a natural part of life. There was a lot of that at home, with her dad painting, writing and singing and her mother encouraging her to express herself and listening to all she wrote and sang. She knew this was it, and did everything to make life around the music very early, studying music in High School and having private lessons from she was 10 years old in her small hometown Sandefjord.
The first song "The Darkest Eyes" was released in 2013, the year she was moving to Cologne, Germany to focus on her own music. Already back then WiMP Norway featured her as "A new shooting star" and the Norwegian music magazine GAFFA made a review of two pages. "Stein sounds like an unsullied, calmer version of Lou Rhodes with a soft edge on the tops of the waves"- GAFFA 2013.
After collaborations in both countries, she is back in Norway focusing on her debute album, having just released her newest single "Race For Applause" last month. Norwegian national radio station NRK P13 airs it with big words: "she is on her way to something huge" and Grungecake (US) compare her with legendary Björk. "Race For Applause" is about finding yourself struggling to stand ground with your own values, in a society that watches you every step of the way, creating insecurities with many people, as you try reaching your goals or just being true to yourself.
The past year she has released two singles before the upcoming album "Bring It On" is brought to life.
