Backyard Concerts of MN is pleased to present Sarah Morris and Michael Gay in concert August 14, 2025. SARAH MORRIS Sarah has a habit of missing the forest. From the day the Minneapolis based singer-songwriter picked up a guitar, armed with the bone-deep memory of her parents’ well-loved record collection and rooted in the storytelling fire of a Mary Chapin Carpenter tune, she’s been too busy crafting love letters to the details of the trees. Sarah’s endearingly honest, expertly penned songs encourage audiences to pull away from the big picture and get caught up in the magic of our everyday minutia, the rainy day ache in her sunlit voice granting us permission to escape into stories at once hauntingly familiar and uniquely her own. MICHAEL GAY Michael Gay is a country and folk singer-songwriter based in Minneapolis. Over the last 10+ years he has established himself through honest and accessible, story-centric songwriting and a whole lot of fingerpicking. A magnetic presence on stage, Michael has occasionally been asked to open shows for national touring artists both at home and on the road. The rest of the time, he typically plays midwest bars and most recently released a live album, recorded and filmed in one take in spring of 2023, to appropriately document that side of his musical journey. Things to Note: It's OK to come a little early at 4:30 PM This is in our backyard performance space where we can experience live music together. Bring your own lawn chairs and whatever refreshments you enjoy (including beer and wine). We are requesting a donation of $25 - it all goes to the musicians.
