MetroBeatz RSA Biography

Macebele Bongani Mossetia, professionally known as MetroBeatz RSA, is a talented 20-year-old artist from South Africa, specifically from the small village of Khakhala in Limpopo, Giyani. His musical journey began at the age of 9, influenced by his brother, who introduced him to modern hip hop and house music. As an artist, MetroBeatz is distinguished by his versatility, effortlessly adapting to various genres. His initial venture into the music industry was as a hip hop artist, collaborating with notable artists such as Simefree. However, in light of the South African music industry's evolution, MetroBeatz has successfully navigated numerous transitions. A significant turning point in his career was his transition to the amapiano genre in early 2019, a move that has had a lasting impact on his musical identity up until 2024.

Over the past five years, Metro has established himself as a prolific artist, churning out an impressive array of hits. In addition to his adaptability to the evolving sound, his tracks, including “swa ku nandzika, swoboha, hlala nami, utaxi kuma,” have garnered significant attention, making him a household name in his hometown, where he is renowned as a pioneer of amapiano.

The year 2023 marked the apex of Metro's career, characterized by collaborations with renowned artists on various production projects. Notably, he produced a complete album for the legendary Penny Penny and remixed songs such as 'Sesi va rosie'. Metro also had the opportunity to tour with Penny Penny, serving as his DJ. Furthermore, his collaboration with Baba Harare from Zimbabwe on the song 'Bum Bum' resulted in an impressive 100,000 views on YouTube, signifying a major breakthrough in his career. Additionally, he collaborated with Queen Vosho from Mozambique, leading to 100,000 streams on YouTube.

Metro has established a strong online presence through his active engagement on TikTok and other social media platforms. He credits music with providing him "a family and financial stability, enabling me to afford things that were previously unaffordable." Metro has performed at numerous gigs, collaborating with prominent artists such as Makhadzi, Benny Mayengani, Penny Penny, Blaq Diamond, and Dj Tira. His career is poised for significant growth, with his hometown community expressing excitement at the prospect of seeing him on television in the future.

In August 2024, Metro released Xiluva xa mina, an amapiano hit featuring Wayne & Tango, the prominent Tsonga amapiano duo from Giyani. The song quickly gained traction, with over 7,000 videos created on TikTok and more than 50,000 streams across all platforms within a month. Xiluva xa mina has achieved remarkable success, charting on Shazam for over eight weeks and peaking at number 85 on the South African iTunes Top 200 chart, a notable accomplishment for both artists. As a result, Metro has gained widespread recognition on social media, with fans eagerly expecting new music from him. His talent has also been acknowledged by music industry professionals, who have co-signed and praised his work.
