KRIS R, Born Kristian Rangel Betancur in New York City and raised in Medellín, is widely recognized as the creator of Trap de Medallo, a sound he defined through his raw lyricism and street-rooted identity. He began his music career at 15 and gained early traction through collaborations with Rauw Alejandro, Ñengo Flow, and Jowell & Randy. He rose to prominence with viral tracks like “Sople,” “Las Piponas,” and “TRAPPHONE,” and made a strong mark with “EL EXORCISTA” and “POLOS OPUESTOS.” In his young career, he has already earned three RIAA-certified singles, and he is currently charting on Spotify in 17 countries. He is also the only emerging artist ranked among the Top 10 most-streamed artists in Colombia, standing alongside the country’s biggest stars. In 2024, he toured the United States alongside Ryan Castro and Blessd, and in 2025, he completed a 25-date Tour across Colombia. He also released major collaborations including “SORNERO” with J Balvin and “NI X EL PUTXS” with Ryan Castro.
