A passionate performer and visionary artist, Marla’s music weaves a rich tapestry of global influences, blending the ethereal sounds of Peter Gabriel’s Passion, the mysticism of Niyaz, the rhythmic textures of Mickey Hart’s Planet Drum, and the soul-stirring ambiance of Dead Can Dance. Her unique style transports listeners into transformative realms where music meets the sacred.

Marla’s original compositions have been featured in Hala Khouri’s Yoga for Stress Release DVD, the indie film Bold Native, and the short animation The Cellist. She has also been commissioned by institutions such as the University of Kentucky and Brooklyn Middle School for bespoke compositions.

Marla’s performances have graced prestigious stages, including the Tambouri Mundi Festival in Germany, the Luzerne Music Festival, the Bali Arts Festival, the Los Angeles Sacred Music Festival, and the Topanga Earth Day Festival, captivating audiences worldwide with her masterful artistry. As the creator of her own signature line of frame drums with the Cooperman Company, she blends ancient traditions with modern innovation.

A pioneer in online education, Marla is the CEO of Frame Drum Academy, where she offers two in-depth programs, Frame Drum 101 and 202, to students around the globe. Her dedication to music as a healing force extends beyond performance, as she composes meditative, cross-cultural music for film, TV, and healing arts DVDs.

Marla's debut album, Rhythms of Tof Miriam (2020), is a captivating fusion of ancient rhythms and modern soundscapes, reflecting her deep connection to the ancient art of frame drumming. Recorded in Israel, the album transports listeners on a meditative journey, blending cross-cultural influences and evocative melodies that speak to the soul.
