Monte Mai is a Swiss Grenadian psychedelic pop trio.
Electronic Avant-Pop / Indie-Pop. Monte Mai are Fabio Besomi, Fabio Pinto and Anaïs Schmidt.
Deconstructed rhythms, smoky bass riffs, lanky psychedelic nursery rhyme-like vocal lines, analog synths and angelic voices. A retro-manic journey into post-genre lateral Pop and played electronica, creating a twisted musical language all their own. Their debut album Eye Sea Double (2023), co-produced by Aris Bassetti (Peter Kernel, Camilla Sparksss) received critical acclaim and brought about comparisons to Metronomy, Marc Bolan, LCD Soundsystem, The Knife, Son Lux, Animal Collective and Vanishing Twin. They’ve been invited to play at Festivals such as Balélec (2022) m4music (2023), One Of A Million (2023). To date they’ve shared bills with the likes of Ibeyi, M83, Cigarettes After Sex, Los Bitchos, Nu Genea, islandman, and many others. Their new album "Eye Sea Double" was released 03.02.2023.
