TABI Biography
Brighton-born and based Tabitha Barrowcliffe, aka TABI, may have delivered the catchiest song of 2025.
Write A Song About was written when TABI was 13 after a boy at school asked her if he was the kind of boy she would write a song about. He was, but not in the way he hoped, and hence was born this infectious two-and-a-half-minute pop anthem.
Tabi grew up immersing herself in the catalogues of iconic singers Fiona Apple, Amy Winehouse, Sinéad O'Connor, and Duffy. Her songwriting, powerful voice, and charisma carry a similar startling immediacy to when these artists started.
When Gorillaz guitarist Jeff Wootton heard Write A Song About, his reaction was...
‘So good, she can go all the way, get her on that Taylor Swift support!’
Still at college, Tabi is mixing her music studies with writing, recording and gigging.
Her debut London show at Paper Dress received rapturous receptions all around.
Aside from her music, there are many such issues TABI is very passionate about, predominantly mental health. She started a petition to “End Abuse In Mental Health Hospitals” which amassed over 37000 signatures.
Next, she is supporting The Amy Winehouse Band at Brighton Patterns on 18th January, followed by her show, with guests acts Last Apollo and Elvie, at WaterBear in Brighton on January 24th in aid of Papyrus UK and their dedication to preventing young suicide.
