Rudimentary Paste
Socks on Records Presents Halloween @ The Holloway
The Holloway
19B St Lawrence Steps

About this concert
A Socks on Records showcase featuring some of East Anglia's finest noisemongers all crammed into one of Norwich's finest small venues for the measly sum of a fiver. It's Halloween, so dress like a maniac and throw yourself into some of this:
The Dodo Appreciation Society recently unleashed their debut full-length album, Animal Frequencies , which explores the full gamutof nature's wonders from the Sex Life of a Slug to the chaos of Wasp in the Bedroom (don't panic) through the lens of Beefheart experimentalism and pure unbridled noisejoy. The Peterborough duo offer up an unforgettable spectacle that simply must be experience live at least once in your lifetime. I promise that you will not regret this.
All hail the Dodo.
Rudimentary Paste, Norwich's post-postmodernist foamcore wonkwranglers are endorsed by BBC6Music's Tom Robinson and will serve you a delicious bowl of noise-flavoured soup seasoned with an eclectic mix of daft fun, inside-out guitars and sneaky hard satire. Expect a wall of racket touching on Robocop, grief, bigotry, love, the awfulness of Brexit mythology and life in a Sea Cucumber's anus all though the prism of faded Hollywood glamour and the gritty menace of 1980s public service announcements.
No-one can protect you from the foamcore.
Al Pacino's Sister are a supergroup of sorts mangling the plasticine members of Das Kapitans and Sprainer all together into one pulpy monstrosity. There's a lo-fi punky Graham Coxoness to the finished project (if Graham Coxon wrote songs that are all about 53 seconds long). This is raw, honest, sweaty and absolutely glorious.
Lapan will fill your ears with cathartically loud experimental noise-punk until your head boils over and spills braingloop all over your new Converse All Stars. You'll thank them for it. The Suffolk duo who meld tom-heavy thump with hardcore vocals and three pints of feedback.

Rudimentary Paste Biography
Rudimentary Paste emerge like the withered oldmanbabyface of Kuato from the exposed torso of foamcore luminaries such as Not Your Damned Apples, Universal Disappointment Sponge and Morse Code Operator #2. Postmodernist art-rock manwrong wonk nonsense that views the fiasco of the current political landscape through the lens of John Carpenter’s The Thing, Harryhausen stop-motion and Troma Entertainment to conjure audio images of upside-down Kwasi Kwarteng/Ed 209 hybrids, post-Brexit Octopus Milk farmers and a Godzillaesque Eric Monkman rampaging through Tokyo. This delicious soup is noise-flavoured.
