Mourning Star

Mourning Star formed in Sept 2023 as the brainchild of Todd Morris and Casey Weaver. Recruiting local heavy weight talents Eric Seals, Ryan "Taco" Bell and Aaron "Yanni" Devine the band has solidified and is recording and releasing Singles starting July 2025.

Mixing thoughtful melodic hooks and heartrending choruses, to groove riffs with driving beats, to brutal heavy and fast riffs reminiscent of 80's and 90's thrash, Mourning Star is not limited to any one style and is able to be extremely creative due to not being locked into any one genre. Our goal is to create songs that get stuck in your head, deep with emotions and filled with power, this is our goal and our sound.

Despite perception, the name "Mourning Star" has no theological significance. The origin of the band name is referring to lost individuals who mourn to the stars in the sky, searching for answers to life and living.
