Rae.L Biography
Rae.L, a singer-songwriter based in Tucson, Arizona, is a rising star whose unique blend of pop and R&B showcases her versatile voice and fearless exploration of different genres. Born on November 10, 1998, in Silver Spring, Maryland, and raised in East Berlin, Pennsylvania, Rae.L’s musical journey is a testament to her philosophy: “Have fun with it, and if you enjoy it, do it.”
In 2020, Rae.L joined forces with other like-minded artists to form "OCF" (Our City’s Finest), a music conglomerate that has deeply influenced her artistic direction. This collaboration, sparked through internet connections, inspired her moniker and debut album, Internet Friends. The album captures the chaotic yet hopeful essence of modern life, with themes of finding joy amid adversity and embracing whimsy in the face of challenges.
Her influences are as diverse as her music, with Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Midwest emo shaping her artistic sensibilities, although her heart lies firmly in pop. Rae.L’s love for artists like Ariana Grande and Upsahl is evident in her music’s vibrant energy and emotional depth. Opening for Upsahl at Hotel Congress on May 15, 2024, remains a career highlight, marking a significant moment for Rae.L as she performed alongside one of her major inspirations.
