El-Shaddai Biography

El Shaddai — The Bold New Voice of Caribbean Dancehall and Reggae
Also known as DollyDon (DOL)

Vibrant. Fearless. Unstoppable. El Shaddai is more than an artist—she’s a movement.

Born Shada Barrett in Jamaica and now based in the U.S., El Shaddai is redefining the sound of modern Dancehall and Reggae with a style that’s as raw and real as it is infectious. Blending Caribbean rhythms with bold storytelling, she delivers music that captures emotion, commands attention, and ignites the crowd.

From her early days performing in her community alongside her stepfather’s father, her talent was undeniable. Today, she’s a rising force in the international music scene, with a growing fanbase and an unshakable drive to leave her mark.

Making a Statement with Every Song

El Shaddai officially stepped into the spotlight with her debut single “Tip,” a high-energy record that turned heads across the industry. She followed with “Fxck Boy,” an unapologetic anthem of empowerment, and “Repeat,” a catchy, genre-blending track featuring MC Nuffy, the iconic host of Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert.

Each release has showcased her versatility, lyrical depth, and undeniable star power:
• “Tip” set the stage
• “Fxck Boy” made a statement
• “Repeat” proved she’s here to stay

Under her alter ego DollyDon (DOL), she channels a fiery, unfiltered side—infusing her music with raw confidence and street-smart charisma. DOL represents the fearless edge of her artistry, boldly taking up space in a genre historically dominated by men.

Commanding Stages Across the U.S. and Beyond

El Shaddai’s captivating stage presence has taken her to major cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, New York, South Carolina, and Baltimore. She has shared stages with some of the biggest names in Dancehall and Reggae, including:

Baby Cham, Nadine Sutherland, Anthony B, Valiant, Chuck Fender, Denise Belfon, and Rygin King.

Most recently, she lit up the stage at the Bounty Killer & Friends Independence Bash in NYC (July 2025) and delivered a fierce performance at Tempo Networks’ “Tempo Turns 20” Celebration, which aired across the Caribbean and North America.

Industry Recognition & Rising Stardom

El Shaddai’s impact is being felt far beyond the stage. Her growing influence has earned her invitations to prestigious industry events:
• B.E.T Experience (2023 & 2024) – Special guest, now returning in 2025 for a mainstage performance
• IAM Awards – Honored as a featured guest
• VP Records Book Signing – Personally invited by Patricia Chin, legendary co-founder of VP Records
• African Achievements Awards (2022–2023) – Selected to submit a special video tribute celebrating the year’s honorees
• Tempo Networks – Featured artist in 2025’s celebratory campaign and televised performances

Her work is a reflection of her passion and persistence—an artist with purpose and power, building bridges between cultures through sound.

What’s Next?

With three cinematic music videos released and a vault of unreleased records ready to shake the scene, El Shaddai is just getting started. Her most recent single, “Repeat,” released on December 31, 2024, is already gaining traction and solidifying her as one of the boldest new voices in Caribbean music.

Whether on stage or in the studio, El Shaddai is crafting legacy-level music with global appeal. She’s not following trends—she’s setting them.
