About this concert
Since 2008 Black Spiders have continued to make a loud and compelling case for heavy guitar music, from the sin city streets, revelling in the glories of the genre, its sacred lore, with a top-shelf collection of riffs, a sly dash of humour, plus an iconic logo that sits alongside the best. This cocktail of heavy music, with a punk attitude, is something fans have come to savour. Now five studio albums in (the latest release in 2025 - ?Cvrses? via their own DIY label Dark Riders and Cargo Distribution) and another ?Especiale? to come via Record Store Day 2025. In support of their studio albums (most hit a spot in the top ten, on the UK Independent Albums charts, everytime ), plus a fistful of EPs, Black Spiders have toured all over Europe with a variety of rock?s most riff hungry sons, the likes of Volbeat, Danzig, Airbourne, Ozzy, Black Stone Cherry and Monster Magnet, and appeared at all of the UK?s leading festivals, including Download, Sonisphere and Bloodstock and many of the smaller independent festivals too? Noted for their unswerving dedication to the music, the middle finger (or two) and the rousing rock ?n? roll slogan (?EAT THUNDER, SHIT LIGHTNING!?), the Spiders are the perfect low-slung machine to raise a glass or clench a tattooed fist to ? even while hoovering the kids bedroom?. ?We were on such a high after the last release, the song-writing was like a puking juggernaut, constantly flowing from deep within. What?s a band to do? Record more songs and keep on keeping on, is the right answer? And that?s what we do. Each and every time?? 2026 sees Black Spiders tour their debut album Sons of the North. It was released 7 February 2011 after two years of touring by the band

Black Spiders Biography

They descended from the land of ice and snow, forged on anvils by the hammers of the Gods...............

Black Spiders, originally put together to celebrate the passing of a dear friend and to tear up some classic rock n’ roll tunes in his honour, led by Pete ‘Spider’ Spiby with side-kick Ozzy ‘Ozzy’ Lister they set about writing tall tales and wrestling monstrous riffs. Thusly, and with great determination they began writing and recording classic after classic…

Killer shows followed with likeminded friends and heroes such as; SuperSuckers and the Dwarves …....audiences were duly slain!

With the a face-melting-axe-attack, they set forth and tore up mainland Europe with the mighty Airbourne. Next came UK with The Datsuns, Winnebago Deal, Parlor Mob, Stone Gods and Danko Jones - these men are ready to take on a world that is eager for some rock and/or roll and have been called to appear at this year’s Download festival at the gladiatorial Donnington Park.

“If you’re one of those people who like: a) the first three Black Sabbath albums, b) masturbating in church, or c) masturbating in church with Black Sabbath on your ipod, then you’re going to go absolutely fucknuts for Black Spiders. Recalling the likes of Turbonegro, Zeke, or a party hard Hellacopters, this four piece peddle crotch-sodden sleaze-rock that touches upon questions of theology, violence and, naturally, major league rutting. They’re blatantly going to hell, but before they do, be sure to crack one off in their honor next time you’re in Bible class.” NME
