Hidden Mothers officially launched with a debut single in June 2019, and by the end of that year had self-secured support slots with international touring acts including Coilguns, Inter Arma and Planes Mistaken For Stars. They then released a self-titled EP in September 2020 and off the back of this played several high profile shows including main support slots with Weigedood, Yob, The Callous Daoboys, Employed To Serve, Portrayal of Guilt and more. The band have also made appearances at several festivals including ArcTanGent 2023, where they impressed so much they were asked back for the 2024 edition, and were subsequently booked by the same organisers for 2000 Trees Festival in 2025. After a long period of honing their craft on the live circuit, and a lineup change, Hidden Mothers finally released their debut album ‘Erosion / Avulsion’ in November 2024 via Church Road Records. ‘Erosion/Avulsion’ is a record that features all the blastbeats, driving riffs and impassioned screaming that Hidden Mothers have come to be known for, but is also drenched in atmosphere, haunting melody, and delicate emotion, thanks in no small part to Luke Scrivens’ potent lyricism and Jeff Buckley-esque singing voice. It may have taken a while to get here, but Hidden Mothers 2.0 will not disappoint.
