Double Vision Jazz Biography
Double Vision is a high-octane jazz ensemble co-led by saxophonist John Mills and pianist Hank Hehmsoth—two veteran performers, composers, and educators who bring decades of musical chemistry to the stage. Rooted in tradition but fearless in improvisation, Double Vision seamlessly blends contemporary jazz, funk, Latin, and cinematic grooves into a sound that’s both accessible and boundary-pushing.
Each performance is a conversation: rhythmically charged, harmonically rich, and deeply expressive. Whether playing an original composition or reimagining a standard, Double Vision brings intensity, humor, and a deep love for the art of live performance.
Recent highlights include multiple live TV appearances (Fox 7 Austin), festival performances, and radio features. Their latest album Blu-Escape has earned national press and international airplay—including recognition from All About Jazz and Bob Osborne’s World of Jazz.
