About this event
Event lasts 10 hours
Smoke on Trent is a grassroots heavy metal music festival held annually at The Rigger in Newcastle-under-Lyme, near Stoke-on-Trent. Celebrating the raw power of the UK’s underground metal scene, this all-day event features a stacked lineup of sludge, stoner, doom, and hard rock bands.
The most recent edition, Smoke on Trent IV, took place on April 5, 2025, drawing fans from across the Midlands and beyond and raising £600 for the Dougie Mac Charity. Hosted in one of Staffordshire’s most iconic rock venues, the event showcases both established underground acts and rising talent. With powerful live performances, a gritty atmosphere, and a close-knit crowd of passionate fans, Smoke on Trent has become a must-attend fixture in the UK’s independent metal calendar.
Whether you're a longtime headbanger or just discovering the scene, Smoke on Trent delivers a day of pounding riffs, good beer, and the spirit of true DIY rock culture.
