About this concert
Memory Lane is pleased to announce the return of our annual get together Memory Lane London 2025 which will be held as usual at the Phoenix Arts Club, Charing Cross Road, London on Saturday 11th October 2025 from noon until 4:30pm. (Doors open 11:45.) The Phoenix Arts Club is an “intimate” night-club style venue in the basement of the Phoenix Theatre. The event is particularly aimed at our subscribers as a thank you, as without you there would be no Memory Lane. As importantly, the event is a key fund raiser, as every penny of the ticket money goes to support the magazine. As well as the delightful cabaret chanteuse and Talking Pictures TV star Kate Garner, we are delighted to welcome back The Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, with vocalist/compere, Karla Beare who will be presenting, ‘Piccadilly Picks’, a selection of the band’s most requested songs and arrangements from the Golden Years, as featured on their recent CD issues. We also hope to include a special musical guest to entertain us in ‘Billy Mayerl’ style. Your ticket also includes free entry to the popular Memory Lane raffle with top value mystery prizes. This is a great opportunity to spend an afternoon in convivial company of folk who share your love of the Great British Dance Bands. A complimentary buffet lunch will be available on arrival, with free tea and coffee for the day and as usual a free bar. Tickets are available now, but are strictly limited in number. Our recent events sold out rapidly, so order your tickets early to avoid disappointment. Please provide an e-mail address or telephone number in case of any last-minute changes. Tickets can be bought by Memory Lane subscribers ONLY for up FOUR tickets per subscriber, and are at the special subscriber’s price of only £40.00 per ticket. Those who are not current subscribers will need to take out a subscription to Memory Lane to order tickets. Tickets SOLD OUT. Almost 5 hours of Top Class live entertainment with free food and drink - It must the best value afternoon out in London ever!

Michael Law's Piccadilly Dance Orchestra Biography

From the Charleston of the 1920s Gatsby era through the beautiful classic songs of the 1930s, to swing and jazz hits, The Piccadilly Dance Orchestra performs the greatest dance music and the best tunes of the Jazz Age.

Elegant, musically immaculate and infused with toe-tapping rhythm, the PDO’s recordings have recently been chosen for the soundtracks of CSI, Gotham as well as an award-winning documentary about Stanley Kubrick…and two of the PDO’s recordings (Happy Feet and Dance Little Lady) have been heard by more than two and a half million people on YouTube.

The PDO enjoyed residencies at London's Ritz and Savoy Hotels and have recorded eight CDs. Their sensational Café de Paris events have set a new standard for recreations of 1920s/30s high society entertainment.

At The Savoy, The PDO were the last to perform on the legendary stage where so many great bands of the past had performed, including Carroll Gibbons and the Savoy Hotel Orpheans, Geraldo, Fred Elizalde and Debroy Somers.

Acclaimed worldwide for their spirited recreations of the music of the British Dance Bands, Michael and the PDO were especially chosen for BBC 4's highly successful Len Goodman's Dancing Feet and a sequel, Len Goodman's Dance Band Days - and following their concert at John Dankworth and Cleo Laine's Wavendon theatre: "this was probably the most entertaining evening I can remember...the orchestra is really superb".
