Pathetic Ordinary Biography
Pathetic Ordinary is a Singapore Easycore/Pop Punk band. Frontman Melson sings mostly about friendship and heartbreaks to upbeat melodies and rhythms, held together by Haziq and Kimmy on guitars, Nathan on bass and Kaiwen on drums. Since forming in 2018, the band has gone through a colorful journey, as they have released their debut EP “Forget It, I’m in a Better Place” in 2020, which has gotten some attention on local airwaves and publications. The band was nominated as finalists in the Vans Musician Wanted 2019 competition, and their track “Far Fetched” was also nominated in 3 different categories at SCAPE’s Youth Music Awards 2020. Pathetic Ordinary was awarded the “Rock Artist of The Year” for SCAPE’s Youth Music Awards in 2021. The band had their first sold-out release show on the 21st October 2023 at Tonehouse. Pathetic Ordinary continually strives to push the boundaries of the Easycore/Pop Punk genre by standing out amongst numerous other bands of diversifying genres, hoping to leave a dent and be an influence in Singapore's music scene.
Pathetic Ordinary has been described as a band with a "sarcastic band name but the band sound is not ordinary at all," (Brader Bo, Ria 897 FM)
