Folk Paper Scissors Biography
Formed in 2023, Folk Paper Scissors play a combination of Americana and original music. Band members currently live in the Akron area. Playing primarily at the Jenks Building and CBG-Chestnut Beer Garden in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio honing a tight sound and core set of covers and band written original songs.
Charley Bowman was part of a folk band called Roadside Exit 2002-2006. He was the main songwriter and mandolin player. Roadside Exit played at coffee shops, private parties in Summit and Portage Counties and played at two Lake County Historical Society Festivals. Charley started the Brown Bag Music Hour - a regular Wednesday event, from noon-2:00pm - booking local/regional musicians of any genre Charley primarily plays here as a solo acoustic guitar act playing original songs and some folk song covers from Woody Guthrie to contemporary singer-songwriters.
Charley received an Ohio Arts Council Emerging Artist Grant in October 2024 and started the Charley Bowman & Friends Show at the Jenks - a monthly (4th Saturday of the month) music program.
