About this concert
For the first time, we are inviting you to a Christmas concert in Oslo’s historic ceremonial hall. The University Aula is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, and most internationally acclaimed Norwegian musicians have performed there. The venue was also previously used for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, and its walls are adorned with Edvard Munch’s magnificent paintings The History, The Sun, and Alma Mater. This creates a beautiful setting to get into the Christmas spirit. The concert will feature well-known works by Handel, Mozart, Vavilov, Franck, Strauss, Reger, and Grieg – classical gems often associated with the holiday season.
The performance will be given by soprano Hege Gustava Tjønn Ludwig, violinist Ragnhild Hemsing, and pianist Christian Grøvlen, all of whom have gained international recognition.
