National Recording Artist Mike Williams on Sax performs his signature soulful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner! The Cleveland Guardians are excited to celebrate and honor Black history! Throughout the summer, the Guardians will be participating in local festivities to celebrate and uplift the African American community in greater Cleveland. The Guardians will also host our first-annual Black Excellence Celebration presented by Nestlé at Progressive Field on Friday, June 27. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure everyone has a chance to be part our game, the Guardians work in partnership with local community organizations to provide learning and education to our staff and teammates throughout the entire year. We know that jewel events like Black Excellence Night allow us to intentionally spotlight the collective stories of hope, struggle, and opportunity that make our city and team better.
