Rachel Dara Biography

Rachel Dara is a Montreal-based singer-songwriter who recorded her debut album “The Next Big Invention" with legendary Canadian record producer Mark Howard in Nova Scotia. Mark crafted the album on a 75 year old mic for an essence reminiscent of an artist whom he had previously worked with, Joni Mitchell, to whom he compared her. In 2023, Rachel Dara received ISSA’s “International Female Rising Star” award and was announced as a silver award winner for “International Female Music Video of the Year”.

Her debut album “The Next Big Invention” released in March of 2025. She is set to release her next EP in 2025 as well, which was entirely recorded, mixed, and mastered on 2-inch tape at Classic Avenue Studios in Mississauga, Ontario. Summer 2024 was eventful for Rachel Dara, with multiple festival performances at Montreal's West Island Blues Fest, as well as Ribfest, Brew York in Sackets Harbour NY, Wally Lake Fest in Hawley, PA and the New York State Fair in Syracuse NY. She is set to perform twice as a headlining act at Montreal’s West Island Blues Fest in the summer of 2025, as well as at Montreal’s Ribfest, the Montreal Fringe Festival, Wally Lake Fest, the New York State Fair, and over 20 other local gigs around the Montreal area.
