About this concert
STORY OF A SONG: A 90s Unplugged Experience
This is what happens when four supercool ‘90s bands let their singers hang out together to play some songs and tell some stories...the songs you remember singing along with, the stories behind them that you didn ’ t know, and always a few good surprises. “Story of a Song” is a 90s unplugged experience that you do not want to miss featuring Chris Barron from Spin Doctors, Brian Vander Ark from The Verve Pipe, Vinnie Dombroski from Sponge, and John Hampson from Nine Days.

Brian Vander Ark Biography
Brian Vander Ark is the lead singer and principal songwriter for the multiplatinum
alternative rock band The Verve Pipe, recognized worldwide for their
radio hits Photograph, Hero, Happiness Is, Never Let You Down, and the #1
smash single The Freshmen.
In addition to their success on radio, TV and film, sold-out concert dates
throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia, features in Rolling Stone,
Interview Magazine and many more, and videos on MTV and VH1, Brian and the
band have made numerous television appearances, including ‘The Tonight Show
With Jay Leno’ and ‘Late Night With David Letterman.’
During breaks from his work with The Verve Pipe, Brian set out on his own to
launch a multifaceted solo career that has included releasing four acclaimed
independent studio albums - Resurrection, Angel Put Your Face On, Brian Vander
Ark and Magazine as well as his most recent, a collection of cover songs called
Planet Sunday Sessions, Volume 1. He’s also collaborated with actor/musician
Jeff Daniels on the just released Simple Truths, a new album of original
Americana songs, while also releasing two new albums from The Verve Pipe –
Parachute, a new studio rock album and Villains – Live & Acoustic, their first-ever
live album featuring an acoustic reimagining of their platinum debut album
Villains. Prolific as ever, Brian’s reputation as a skilled songwriter and producer
continues to grow.
After years of large-scale touring, Brian was challenged by a need for a more
personal fan experience. In response, he created the “Lawn Chairs and Living
Rooms” house concert series, performing over 600 intimate shows in the homes
of fans across America. He’s also a sought after featured speaker, telling his
compelling story of success and reinvention to both motivate and inspire the
management and staff of corporations, financial institutions, schools, non-profits
and more.
And in 2019, Brian’s autobiography “When I Was Young I Knew Everything” will
be published - an honest, sometimes hilarious and very revealing account of the
story he’s lived to tell. Both fans and non-fans alike will be captivated by his
musings on life, love, family, friendship, rock stardom, platinum success and the
cold cruel slide off the charts and back into living rooms.
Whether solo or with The Verve Pipe, Brian performs in concert throughout
North America, including notable appearances at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits
Festival, Lincoln Center, Hangout Music Festival, SummerStage in Central Park,
and many more.
