Mia Jativa, known artistically as Jahtiva, is a rising reggae artist from San Diego, blending classic roots reggae with a fresh, modern touch. Inspired by the golden era of reggae, her music is deeply influenced by the rich sounds of the 70s and 80s, yet she brings her own unique voice and energy to the genre.
Jahtiva’s musical journey began at a young age, growing up surrounded by reggae and honing her craft alongside seasoned musicians. Her dedication to authenticity is reflected in her work, as she collaborates with some of the most respected names in the industry. Her latest EP, Crucial Lover, showcases her passion for reggae, featuring production by Mario Jativa, engineering by Grammy-winner Fabian Cooke, and collaborations with top musicians like Roger Rivas (The Aggrolites), Andy Geib (Slightly Stoopid), and Santa Davis (Ziggy Marley).
With a growing presence in the reggae scene, Jahtiva is gaining recognition for her smooth, soulful vocals and ability to capture the essence of classic reggae while making it her own.
