Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Julian Joel's musical journey began in the church, where he honed his craft singing in the choir and playing drums and organ. His rich background includes providing background vocals for esteemed artists such as Carla Cooke, daughter of the legendary Sam Cooke, and gospel sensation Kira Daffin.
