Witchorious Biography

Witchorious is a doom metal band from Paris, France. At the end of 2019, Lucie Gaget (bass), Paul Gaget (drums), and Antoine Auclair (guitar) came together and founded the project that would pull them out of their musical stupor. In 2020, they released their first two tracks: “3 AM” and “Evil Creature.”

The foundation was laid: a blend of modern doom and vintage fuzz, the blues roots of Black Sabbath combined with the sneaky agony of Electric Wizard's riffs and the raw aggression of Amenra's blood-curdling screams. Witchorious creates possessed stoner rock: destructive rhythm section, aggressive guitars, and the voices of Antoine and Lucie—chants like incantations, screams projected like the song of desperate witches.

In 2023, the band recorded under the direction of Francis Caste at the Sainte-Marthe studio (Hangman’s Chair, Aqme, Rise of the Northstar...) and released their first album on February 16th, 2024 via the Italian label Argonauta Records. This LP explores the duality of human nature and the inevitable fate of our world, with the Witch—an indomitable and oppressed figure—at its core, acting as the burning spokesperson for the wounds of our time.

The media reception has been glowing. Witchorious has been playing numerous shows since, supporting acts like Bongzilla, Castle Rat, Hippie Death Cult, Mars Red Sky, and Monkey3, and performing at prestigious genre festivals (Westill, Hellfest, DesertFest...), in France and abroad (UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy). Their performances are captivating, proving that the magic is only beginning.
