SANDVEISS est un groupe de heavy rock québécois né en 2011. Leur musique est à la fois heavy et mélodique. Leurs influences vont de Black Sabbath à Kyuss, en passant par Tool et Mastodon.
Leur premier album, « Scream Queen », est sorti en 2013. À l'été 2015, SANDVEISS a notamment joué au FEQ (Plaines d'Abraham), en première partie de High on Fire et Megadeth, ainsi qu'au Heavy Montréal, devant un public très réceptif. À l'automne suivant, leur album, « Scream Queen », a remporté le prix de l'« Album heavy de l'année » aux GAMIQ. En 2016, ils ont sorti un EP vinyle 7 pouces, « Save Us All », également nominé aux GAMIQ Awards. Cela a ouvert la voie à une tournée en Suède, où ils ont donné des concerts au festival « Live at Heart » d'Örebro.
Après quelques changements et un long processus d'écriture fructueux, SANDVEISS est revenu en 2019 avec son deuxième album complet, « Saboteur ». L'année suivante, ils ont sorti Sandveiss Bloody Sandveiss, un hommage à Black Sabbath.
Un troisième album est sorti en 2024 : Standing in the Fire. À travers cet album, SANDVEISS explore des thèmes tels que la division, la polarisation croissante et la toxicité des réseaux sociaux, qu'ils considèrent comme le reflet d'une société malade. Le résultat est un disque puissant et sincère, mêlant intensité musicale et profondeur lyrique.

Sandveiss Biography
SANDVEISS is a Heavy Rock band from Quebec City that came to life in 2011. Their music is heavy yet also melodic. Their influences range from Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool, Mastodon etc.
The band's self-released first album “Scream Queen” came out in 2013 (re-released in 2014 with the label Sexy Sloth). The first single “Untie Me” was in rotation on CHOM FM (Montreal), CHOI FM (Quebec City) and also the video played on “Musique Plus” (French version of Much Music). In the Summer of 2015, SANDVEISS played notably at the FEQ (Plaines of Abraham), opening act for High on Fire and Megadeth, they also played at Heavy Montreal to a very receptive crowd which they got great acclaims. Next Autumn, their album “Scream Queen” won “Heavy Album of the Year” at the GAMIQ awards. In 2016, they released a 7” EP vinyl “Save Us All” (also nominated at the GAMIQ awards). That paved the way to a tour in Sweden, where they played shows at the “Live at Heart” festival in Örebro.
After some band member changes and a long writing process, SANDVEISS is back in 2019 with their 2nd full release called “Saboteur” (nominated at the GAMIQ Awards). The band is comprised of, Luc Bourgeois (lead vocals, guitar) Shawn Rice (back vocals, guitar), Maxime Moisan (bass), and Dominic Gaumond (drumkit).
