About this concert
Kelly Green is one of New York City’s most exciting new jazz artists, "well worth discovering" (NYC Jazz Record) ! A true triple threat—pianist, vocalist, and composer—Green brings a unique, genre-bending approach to her music, captivating audiences of jazz aficionados and casual enjoyers around the world. She has shared the stage with musical visionaries including Christian McBride, George Coleman, and Billy Hart, and has appeared at venues and festivals including The Kennedy Center, Dizzy’s Club, Birdland Theater, Blue Note, DC Jazz Festival, and Montclair Jazz Festival. Known for her self-accompaniment, she performs intricate, lyric-driven arrangements of jazz standards and auspicious "outside-the-box" original compositions. With her internationally touring band, she curates eclectic sets that bridge eras and genres—featuring arrangements of works by Mulgrew Miller, Duke Ellington, Eric Dolphy, and selections from the Blossom Dearie songbook. Green has released four albums to date: Life Rearranged (2017), Kelly Green Trio: Volume One (2018), Endings That Are Beginnings (2022), and Seems (2024). Her fifth album, Corner of My Dreams, is set for release in August 2025. Her recordings have earned critical acclaim, with Seems described as “an album of incredible class” (Thierry De Clemensat). Christian McBride calls her “one of the most talented and spirited people I know,” and All About Jazz lauds her as “an artist and performer in toto.” Through her exceptional musicianship and storytelling, Steinway Artist Kelly Green makes every performance a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience, leaving each audience member feeling as though they experienced a personal concert, just for them. Kelly is an incredibly talented jazz pianist and singer, and her performance was truly mesmerizing. The cellist and drummer were equally outstanding, creating a magical musical experience. We had an unforgettable night! My two friends—one a piano teacher and the other a highly acclaimed pianist—were just as captivated and deeply impressed by the performance. We can't wait for Kelly and her group to return to Phoenix!

Kelly Green Biography

“Kelly Green does something few artists can — she redraws the contours of jazz itself.” (Paris-Move)
Gather ’round, let me tell you a secret: Steinway Artist Kelly Green transforms emotional experiences into whimsical jazz worlds. She plays and sings with the mysterious knowingness of someone who has felt deeply and returned wiser, now offering musical gifts wrapped in rhythm and rhyme.
A pianist, vocalist, composer, and bandleader, Green leads her ensemble through theatrically intricate, lyric-driven ballads, high-energy swing, and heroic instrumental compositions. Her sets weave original works with reimagined pieces by Mulgrew Miller, Duke Ellington, Blossom Dearie, and more — bridging eras with a distinctive touch.
Critics call her “one of the most gifted vocalists working today” (Paris-Move) and “one of the most quietly revolutionary vocalists of her generation” (Thierry De Clemensat). Jazz legend Christian McBride describes her as “one of the most talented and spirited people I know.” In 2025, her magnetic performances and undoubtedly-cool band chemistry earned her a Jazz Roads Touring Grant.
Green has performed and recorded with Christian McBride, Rich Perry, Steve Wilson, Scott Robinson, George Coleman, and Billy Hart, and has sold out venues including The Kennedy Center, Birdland, and the DC Jazz Festival. Her fifth album, Corner of My Dreams — a surrealist, storybook journey through love, grief, and imagination — releases August 2025.
Even in the largest halls, Kelly Green plays as if you’re the only one in the room.
