Tero Saarinen’s new choreographic work is an ode to Kaija Saariaho’s music. In Study for Life, a group of five dancers, the musicians of Asko|Schönberg and soprano, and innovative electronic sound design that weaves together Saariaho’s compositions, bring her nuanced and delicate world to life. This immersive work fulfills the long-held dream of collaboration between the two artists.

Asko|Schönberg Biography
Asko|Schönberg is hét grensverleggende ensemble voor nieuwe muziek. Asko|Schönberg presenteert gedurfde concerten en voorstellingen met gecomponeerde muziek uit de 20ste en 21ste eeuw in uiteenlopende settingen, van concertpodia en buitenfestivals tot aan theaterzalen. Het ensemble ontwikkelt onderzoeksprojecten en educatieve activiteiten. De nadruk ligt op het stimuleren en creëren van nieuw werk door makers van nu. Dit alles met als doel om Nederlands en Internationaal publiek te inspireren en nieuwe geluiden te laten ontdekken. Asko|Schönberg is ensemble in residence bij het Muziekgebouw.
