Sarah Lake Biography
Sarah Lake is a rising indie country artist and powerhouse songwriter whose journey began on American Idol, where she landed in the Top 20. Raised in Canada and North Carolina, Sarah eventually moved to New York City, where she met her husband and creative partner, Grammy-nominated producer Ernie Lake. Now based in Nashville, Sarah’s blend of vulnerability, grit, and indie country flair has earned her over a million views on YouTube, airplay on CMT and Tidal, and placements on curated playlists across SiriusXM, Apple Music, Spotify, and Lightning 100.
As a songwriter, Sarah has penned songs for a range of artists including Runaway June, The Voice finalist Moriah Formica, Miss America Betty Cantrell, and Tegan Marie, with notable holds by Reba McEntire and Jennifer Nettles. She has shared stages with Sam Hunt, Lindsay Ell, A Thousand Horses, and Anderson East, and performed at major festivals like Rock the South and Southern Wilds.
This summer, Sarah will begin releasing music from her highly anticipated new album, “If Whiskey Was a Woman”, co-written with multi–#1 hitmaker Jon Nite and produced by Ernie Lake. Rooted in female strength, emotional truth, and Southern soul, the project reflects her evolution as both an artist and storyteller.
