Mt. Kili Biography

Mt. Kili is from Asheville, North Carolina. Their undefined, genuine, unique style is heartfelt and connected to the substance of our lives, as the songwriting captured the attention of thousands of folk fans after the release of their debut album, “Ten Songs for my Girls, for Now and Later." Singer Rick Sichta wrote the album for his twin six-year-old girls, recording in his home using only a dated recording system, his voice, and a classical guitar.

The band’s first studio single, “Tomorrow,” was released on Spotify on December 8, 2023. Along with Rick, the album includes drummer/percussionist Matt Shepard and country artist Liliana Hudgens on vocals and singing saw. Combining Rick's expansive songwriting with Matt’s intuitive and nuanced approach to drums, percussion and arranging, and Liliana’s embodied vocals and haunting use of the singing saw, Mt. Kili created songs with space and emotion for the listener to feel and be moved.
