Leoni Jansen, Margot Merah en Sophie Janna – van The Lasses – delen een diepe liefde voor Keltische sferen. Ze kunnen er niet genoeg van krijgen: Schotse hooglanden, Ierse heuvels, de branding die eindeloos op de rotsen beukt. En altijd is er ergens in dat woeste landschap wel een dorpskroegje waar mensen samen rond het haardvuur muziek maken.
In A Celtic winter brengen de drie zangeressen de mooiste winter- en kerstnummers uit het Keltische folkrepertoire. Leoni Jansen is bekend om warme intensiteit waarmee ze al jaren gepassioneerd het Ierse repertoire brengt. The Lasses worden alom geprezen om hun samenzang en prachtige instrumentatie. Samen stoken de drie het vuur behaaglijk op met betoverende driestemmige zang en brengen ze warmte en licht in de donkere dagen van december.

The Lasses Biography
Even before they ever spoke they sang together, at a session in Irish pub Mulligans in Amsterdam. Now Sophie Janna and Margot Merah tour all around the world with their invigorating repertoire of Scottish, Irish and American folk and intimate self-penned songs. Their strong harmonies, unaffected vocals and choice of songs makes them a sought after duo in the international folk scene. The past few years saw them tour the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, England, the United States, Canada and Japan. Their fourth album 'Undone' was released in the fall of 2019. Accompanying themselves on bodhrán, tenor ukulele and guitar, the unique blend of the women’s voices always takes the center stage.
