About this concert
With Latent Info, bassist and composer Petros Klampanis treats us to subtle, poetic music that leaves room for nuance and emotion. Inspired by his Greek roots and as part of a fabulous trio, he explores musical boundaries with a compelling sound. With Eunoia, Anneleen Boehme dives into the deep sounds of her double bass. Solo and pure, using jazz, classical music and improvisation as guides, she lets her performance speak straight to the soul.
Latent Info – Petros Klampanis
With his project Latent Info, inspired and acclaimed bassist and composer Petros Klampanis treats us to music that transcends words. Through his minimalist approach, he gives subtle expression and nuances free rein, creating acoustic landscapes from which deep emotions arise.
The vast and open spaces he explores in the music and silences are clearly influenced by his childhood in Greece, with the sea as a backdrop. Klampanis has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Greg Osby, Jacques Morelenbaum, Arooj Aftab, Anoushka Shankar, Snarky Puppy, Maria Farantouri and many others. Since 2011, he has released six albums as a band leader. As musical collaborator of Grammy-winning singer Arooj Aftab, he co-signed for the arrangements of her new album Night Rein.
Together with his faithful companions Kristjan Randalu and Ziv Ravitz, Klampanis creates sensuous, beautiful and incredibly poetic music that stirs the imagination and encourages introspection. Petros continues to push the limits of creative music, exploring new musical horizons with each new project.
Eunoia – Anneleen Boehme
It was already clear from her participation in LABtrio that Anneleen Boehme is a virtuoso double bass player. That she is a full-fledged composer and bandleader, we saw in Grand Picture Palace. Now she reveals her genuine vulnerability. Along with her loyal companion, the double bass. Her music is comforting to the soul and her play leaves no one unmoved.
In her solo, Anneleen Boehme explores the limits of the double bass and tries to transcend them in all their forms. She focuses on the acoustic sound of the instrument and highlights that pure low voice without too many extras. She does so with a focus on music that warms her heart: own compositions written especially for this double bass as well as solo arrangements of existing music and improvisations. Her love for both jazz and classical music are reflected here. An embrace of the double bass, low sounds and pure music ...
Eunoia is double bassist Anneleen Boehme's first solo album, which she has also dedicated to herself: “I wrote a story about who I am, about the road I have travelled so far. About how your head can drive you crazy and how, in the midst of it all, you can still look for peace. I hope it will help you too. Sadness, joy, and comfort for your soul.”
