Freddie & the Cannonballs

Freddie & The Cannonballs is a multiple award-winning Swiss blues band led by Federico "Cannonball" Albertoni, a bassist and vocalist who has been on the Swiss blues scene for over twenty years. The current lineup features Mad Mantello on guitar, Roberto Panzeri on drums, Donato Cereghetti on keyboards, and saxophonists Nigel Casey and Olmo Antezana. Formed in 2018, they have since released an EP ("F", 2019), a double CD ("Two Sides of the Same Coin", 2022), and a 45 RPM single ("Hold On/Look Back", 2024). After winning the Swiss Blues Challenge in 2021, the band represented Switzerland at the European Blues Challenge finals, and reached the semifinals at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Freddie & The Cannonballs continue to perform at major blues festivals and clubs across Switzerland and Europe. In both 2024 and 2025, they were nominated for the prestigious Swiss Blues Award, which they won in 2025 ("Best Artist").
