Conner Eko Biography

Conner Eko is an indie pop singer-songwriter, educator, and astrophysicist based in Vallejo, California, with over two decades of experience in music. He was the lead singer and co-songwriter of the Pittsburgh-based indie rock band Falling Andes before transitioning to a solo career. Eko self-produced and released his debut single and music video, "SINK," in 2021, which gained recognition after being remixed by Grammy-winning DJ StoneBridge in 2022 and receiving airplay on SiriusXM's BPM.

After a hiatus to pursue science and education—working as a high school science teacher—Eko faced personal challenges, including a traumatic brain injury in 2021, which intensified his struggles with depression and anxiety. This period of reflection deepened his resolve to reconnect with his passion for songwriting, ultimately leading to a significant recovery through psychedelic integration therapy. He is currently working on new material inspired by his journey, relationships, and philosophical themes on humanity’s place in the cosmos.

Eko recently completed his PhD in astrophysics, focusing on exoplanets and supporting the search for life beyond Earth at the SETI Institute, collaborating with a global network of citizen scientists. Following his PhD, he released his first music in several years, the live in-studio single “Standing Up,” in January 2025. The single, featuring a full band arrangement, was filmed by local filmmaker Aaron Japzon and is available across all major music streaming platforms and video services.

In early 2025, Eko was named a semi-finalist for the 2025-2026 Fulbright US Scholar Program with his project proposal “Cosmic Harmonies.” The project aims to blend modern pop with traditional Aboriginal sounds, co-writing songs with Indigenous communities in Australia to share Indigenous star knowledge and cultural heritage. Results for finalists are still pending. Eko will be performing a new song called “Our Skies” written in preparation for the potential Fulbright project at the International Astronomical Union’s Symposium 399, Indigenous Astronomy in the Space Age, on July 11, 2025 at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

On May 9, 2025, Eko released his newest single, “A Farewell to Arms,” inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s novel. The song features international collaborations with musicians from Japan, Brazil, and Portugal. In 2026, Eko plans to complete his debut album and (hopefully) begin his Fulbright project, merging pop music with diverse cultural influences, exploring cosmic themes and the human experience through music and storytelling.
