Bipolar Bows is een uniek Belgisch-Frans duo met violiste Lotte Remmen en cellist Toby Kuhn.
Dit crossover strijkersduo brengt een unieke, aanstekelijke mix van folk, jazz, blues en funk met een knipoog naar klassiek, gipsy en rock. Hun klassieke achtergrond staat borg voor virtuositeit en technische hoogstandjes. Ze voelen elkaar perfect aan in briljante improvisaties. Van hun swingende muziek word je instant vrolijk.
In 2021 wonnen ze op de “Flanders Folk Awards 2021” de prijs voor “Most Promising Band”.
In 2022 speelden ze op het VonkFestival 2022 in Gent.
In Dranouter waren ze in 2023 artist-in-residence en in 2024 stonden ze op het Festival.

Bipolar Bows Biography
French/Belgian collaboration Bipolar Bows was created by violinist Lotte Remmen and cellist Toby Kuhn as a study project, a challenge to explore as many musical styles and technical tricks as they could get their hands on. In 2019 they decided to take their work to the stage, resulting in a mosaic of classical and traditional, jazz and funk, tunes from the Balkans to the Appalachians, mottled with improvisations from the deepest corners of their curiosity-driven brains.
