Cowboy Troy Biography
Cowboy Troy returned to the national music conversation when he delivered the 4-part project, Galaxy (May 2020). This project is comprised of 4 individually named quadrants with 4 songs each. The quadrants have their own theme as well. Uptempo club music in Quadrant 1; music to zone out to in Quadrant 2; traditional Texas swing in Quadrant 3; and futuristic Hick Hop in Quadrant 4. Always the pioneer in Hick Hop and country rap, Cowboy Troy provides the next phase in the development of his innovative musical style. The way Troy sees it, “innovation is a tradition, not a trend or secondary option...authenticity comes in the commitment.”

Troy has spent time on TV as well. He’s been a part of the ESPN College Gameday video intro alongside Big & Rich since the 2006 college football season. He also served as co-host for USA Network’s Nashville Star in 2006 and 2007. Troy also performed on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars on the final episode of 2012 Spring season. His appear- ance in Big & Rich’s Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy video, as well as his own I Play Chicken With the Train and Hick Chick videos remind viewers of his “party starter” na- ture. In 2009, Troy became the face and voice of the Cowboy Stomp anthem video for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. Troy’s song Pork Chop was the national theme for the National Pork Board’s month-long Porktober campaign in 2017. Troy was also the face and voice of H-E-B Grocery’s 2018 NFL championship television ad. Most recently, his song Bacon was the focus of the National Pork Board’s 2020, nationwide bacon social media ad campaign.
